MANA Home Tour Saturday, May 3, 2008
(April 29, 2008) — The Annual Martin Acres House Tour will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 11 AM to 2 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to see firsthand some of the improvements that have been taking place in Martin Acres. Come out out and meet your neighbors! The public is invited.
Tickets are $2.00 with proceeds going to the Chase House and Creekside Elementary. Tickets (and tour maps) may be picked up at any of the participating homes or by contacting our sponsors.

A Sound Wall is Possible to Reduce Traffic Noise from US36
(September 2, 2007) — Many feel that the 70 mph speed of cars on 36 from Baseline to Table Mesa is the culprit. Many Martin Acres residents find life on Moorhead and in Martin Acres is unpleasant due to this continuous din. For years there has been NO action to slow traffic and minimize this noise. Now you have another chance to attend a public meeting on Thursday, September 6, at the East Boulder Community Center 5660 Sioux Dr. Boulder, CO 80303 4:00pm - 7:30pm.
Martin Acres Referral Service (MARS) Program Reactivated
(September 2, 2007) — New volunteers have come forward to pick up the Martin Acres Referral Service (MARS) program this fall. This program provides assistance to Martin Acres residents who are having difficulty with their neighbors by referring them to the appropriate agency for assistance. Jessica Stuart and Nick Moschetti (303-593-0547) have offered to help by presenting the booklet "A Guide to Being Neighborly in Martin Acres" to your new neighbors. They are a new family and want to help bridge the gap between generations. Call them for help!
State Historic Fund Study
(September 2, 2007) — The State Historic Fund has given $60,600 dollars to the City for studying post WW II residential architecture with MANA help. Some think they should preserve at one Martin Acres house in its original form.

Radon Detector
(May 6, 2006) — MANA recently purchased a radon detector for use in the neighborhood. Go here for more information about using the detector and about radon in general.
Other Notes of Interest
(September 2, 2007) — Boulder County's Longs Peak Energy Conservation (LPEC) and the City of Boulder will be coming to Martin Acres October 6th to distribute ClimateSmart Kits (in-home energy conservation kits) to residents. The ClimateSmart Kits contain free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and water reduction items, as well as practical tips and information about actionable steps residents can take to reduce their energy use and save money. Energy Audits for $100 are available from the Center for Resource Conservation. They are subsidized by the City and are normally much$ more. Call Allie Marshall 303-441-3278 ex.24 amarshall@conservationcenter.org
